Surprised I've missed this one as its been known for a while, just not a headliner. Disney is making their own live action story talking about the 1925 serum run, only their story is talking about Togo. To be fair, Togo did the longest leg of the run, and ran more miles with Leonard Seppalla than any other relay in the actual serum run. The fact that he has been overlooked for quite some time, this movie will be an interesting story, and I'd be curious if they ever mention "the newspaper dog" in this one. Seppalla called him that in real life.

Sounds pretty cool! I’m pretty excited to see what Disney does, especially with maintaining historical accuracy.

This sounds like it will be a great movie. I am certain that Disney will show that Balto getting credit for things Togo accomplished, was the fault of the press of that day. If they are going for historical accuracy Balto should not be ignored and he definitely should not be vilified in any way.

Yes exactly, you cannot change the fact the press chose to only speak with Kasson and latched onto co-lead dog Balto (yes he wasn't even the lead). But at the same time, history as a whole should be preserved and I really think Disney will do this. Its not going to be on the big screen so it doesn't need big screen elements like drama, a love story, or things like that.

I think it would be pretty cool on the big screen to be honest. I'd definitely go see it if it was going to be in theaters. The story pretty much stands on its own in terms of drama.

It makes perfect sense that Disney would want to make an original movie for their streaming service. What I find interesting is that after seeing some pictures of Leonard Seppalla. He looks a great deal like Willem Defoe. Talk about ideal casting. This movie will definitely be worth seeing.
